Serena Williams Decides on an Inter-Racial Family Before Her Career — She never imagined herself wed to “a White Guy.”

Serena Williams, a tennis legend, spent years focusing solely on her athletic career; she had no intention of having children or finding a husband who was not of her own race.

Williams opened up in a lengthy article for Vogue dated August 2022 about parenthood and her work. She acknowledged that she initially found the idea of being a mother to be a little frightening due to the environment we live in, but there was more to it than that.

I never gave having children a thought earlier in my work. There were times when I questioned if I should ever have children in this troubled society. Williams said, “I was never that secure or comfortable with newborns or kids. If I ever had kids, my child would always be in the care of nannies.

The native of Michigan finally understood that wasn’t the case after becoming a parent. She proudly declared, “I’m a really hands-on mother,” and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, could witness to that even though she had help with her baby.

The couple wed in 2017, and a year later, in April 2018, Williams openly discussed their union and said that despite being complete opposites, the couple makes a fantastic match.
