Swift described the nomination as “momentous and weird” for the 10-minute version of the song she is most proud of in a category that honours authorship.
Taylor Swift said on Instagram that she was prepared to “go scream for ten minutes straight” in honour of the Grammy nominations she garnered for her 10-minute rendition of “All Too Well.”
Swift posted on her Instagram Stories, “So many reasons to lose my freaking mind today,” possibly alluding to the commotion around the beginning of ticket sales for her much awaited “Eras Tour.” She continued by claiming that “All Too Well” was the song she was “most pleased of, out of everything I’ve written,” and she especially rejoiced at its nomination for Song of the Year, “an award I’ve never won, that celebrates the songwriting… It’s historic and unbelievable.
After the nominees were revealed, Swift said she called with “All Too Well” co-writer Liz Rose, and the two “reminisced about how we started working together when I was 14.” “She believed in me then, and now we’re nominated together,” she continued. I just can’t handle how cute it is.
Swift said, “I want to talk about the wonder and mystery of time and fate and recovering my craft, but instead I think I’ll go scream for 10 minutes straight,” a nod to her efforts to redo her first six albums. And remember that without you, none of this would have occurred.
Swift received a nomination for Best Country Song in addition to Song of the Year for “I Bet You Think About Me,” a lost tune from the “Taylor’s Version” of Red. While her song “Carolina,” which she wrote for the movie Where the Crawdads Sing, is up for Best Song Written for Visual Media, so is the music video/short film Swift made for the 10-minute version of “All Too Well.”
