According to Stanley Tucci, many found it strange that he would have a glass of wine with lunch in Los Angeles because of the “crazy” drinking culture there.
The renowned actor, who is best known for performances in films like The Devil Wears Prada and The Lovely Bones, has been a mainstay of Hollywood for many years since landing his first parts in the 1980s.
Although Stanley is accustomed to the glamour and glamour of Los Angeles, he says he finds the drinking culture odd.
On the Dish podcast, hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett and featuring guests and hosts who discussed all things food and drink, Stanley noted that in the past, when he had a drink at lunch, people would act as though he was having a problem.
While I first began visiting LA over forty years ago, people would always take me out to lunch when I was there.
“Great, I’ll take a glass of wine,” you respond. You may have noticed them asking, “Does he have a drinking problem?”
I have absolutely no problems drinking, he laughed. Strange, that culture.
During the conversation, the drunken brunch enthusiast also discussed his family, specifically lamenting the boring eating habits of his kids.
“My children ought to be such wonderful, experimental eaters, but they aren’t.” He made a joke about how incorrectly we had reared them.
They’re wonderful people, but we’ve been terrible about it, we know. You say, “So, you cook the same five f*g things every week, really?”
He continued, imitating his children, “I want my sausages!” Okay, go ahead and eat some sausages. Would you want to try some mashed potatoes after that? Who enjoys mashed potatoes?
Felicity Blunt, a literary agent and the elder sister of Stanley’s Devil Wears Prada co-star Emily Blunt, is the mother of the actor’s two children.
Matteo, their oldest child, was born in 2015, and Emilia, their youngest child, was born in 2018.
In addition, Stanley has three kids from his first marriage to Kathryn Spath-Tucci, who passed away in 2009 from breast cancer.
The actor oddly admitted in another section of the interview that he detests going barefoot, claiming that he requires “a sneaker or a boot” and will occasionally “wear shoes and nothing else.”
Additionally, he said that Ryan Reynolds, star of the film Deadpool, is similar, saying that the actor said he would “sleep in my shoes if I could.”
